Her age was given as 71 at the time. The petitioner, A. F. Slagle, was named as her guardian. It is not clear what relation he was to Lena, but perhaps he was a brother or nephew. The main portion of her state comprised a parcel of land in Barnard, MO valued at $425. On 30 Jul 1942, her guardian filed a petition indicating that she was now “fully restored to her right mind,” and asking that an inquiry be made as to whether she should capable of handling her own property. [37], [1049], [2162], [1691], [696], [1338], [1692], [1927], [1427], [1688], [1954], [1955], [1307], [1131], [1977]

1059. Willie Sanborn BASFORD (Samuel Jonathan7, Jonathon Sanborn6, Jonathan5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, James2, Jacob1). Born on 27 Nov 1880 in Maryville, MO. [37] Willie Sanborn died in Nodaway Co., MO, on 20 May 1881. [1024], [293] age 4 months 23 days. Buried in Sweet Home Cemetery, Jackson Twp., Nodaway Co., MO. [1024], [744]

[1054] indicates that Samuel had a son born 15 Mar 1880. This would be inconsistent with the birthdate given for Willie of 27 Nov 1880. [37] Since the dates are less than 9 months apart, they could not correspond to two different children. The 27 Nov birthdate make more sense relative to the age at death of age 4 months 23 days given on Willie’s gravestone. [1024] Perhaps the year was transcribed incorrectly for the 15 Mar date, and that birthdate actually corresponds to one of Samuel’s other children?
