Seventh Generation (Continued)
Family of Wallace D. BASSFORD (342) & Anna A. GALLAGER
605. Homer Clark BASSFORD (Wallace D.6, James Compton BASFORD5, Benjamin4, Benjamin3, Thomas2, Thomas1). Born on 24 Sep 1905 in Missouri. [392], [599] Homer Clark died in Bradenton, FL, on 17 Sep 1982. [600] Death Cause: Cancer. [600]

He is probably the Homer Bassford who was involved with an equity suit vs. Edith Taylor Bassford to annul their marriage in Dec 1924. [601] I assume that she would be the same Edith T. Bassford who was living with Homer at the time of the 1930 census, so apparently the marriage was never annuled.

The Elizabeth Amelia Mears who married Homer Bassford is probably the Elizabeth A. Mears who also married Robert E. Raines. [517]

His wife’s obituary gives his name as Wallace O’Neill Bassford III, and their son’s name as Wallace O’Neill Bassford IV. [605] It is not clear who the “first” and “second” persons with this name would be. Wallace’s father was pretty consistently referred to as “Wallace D” and his grandfather was James. His father had a first cousin named Wallace O’Neil Bassford who was born in 1900. Perhaps his father Wallace D. could be the first and his cousin could be the “second?”
