After her mother’s death, Edward C. Parkinson (her brother-in-law) was appointed as her guardian. He applied for a pension on her behalf as an orphan of a Civil War soldier. She recieved a pension of $8/month, commencing 3 Jun 1867, and ending on 26 Aug 1875, certificate dated 29 Nov 1873.160

In the 1870 federal census she is living with the family of her sister Serena Parkinson.58 She moved with them to Seward Co., NE, where she was lsited with them in the 1880 census, where her occupation was given as music teacher.274

She removed to Galesburg, IL to live with her married sister Ida Packard.1
